Fart

Have you ever noticed that when you’re in the courting stage, you hide your farts? You wait for your date to step away to fart or you hold it in until you get home.

Then when you’re officially a couple, your farts are cute. The first one to slip is funny and adorable because you’ve held back for so long. You even bond over how you had both gone through so much to hide your farts.

When you’ve been together for some time, farts are no big thing anymore. When you smell a fart, it gets little attention. Sometimes, just a “was that me or you?”

As the relationship winds down, farts become fuel for the fire that burns down the relationship. “I can’t believe you farted in the room when you knew I would smell it! You don’t care about anyone but yourself!!”

From being non-existent, to cute, to whatever, to insulting, farts take on different meanings during the course of a relationship. If anyone ever needed proof that our happiness and suffering comes from within and not without, they would find it in farts.
